Investment Professionals

Kyle T. Emmons | Managing Partner.  Kyle Emmons leads Motte’s deal sourcing, due diligence, deal structuring and negotiation, and portfolio management efforts. Kyle has 12 years of experience in middle market private equity and M&A. Prior to founding Motte, Kyle was an investment professional at The Riverside Company (“Riverside”), a lower middle market private equity firm with over $4.6 billion in assets under management. Prior to joining Riverside, Kyle was an investment professional at NGP Midstream & Resources (“NGP M&R”), a $1.4 billion private equity fund affiliated with NGP Energy Capital Management focused on the energy industrials and services sectors. Before joining NGP M&R, Kyle was an analyst in the investment banking group at KeyBanc Capital Markets, where he executed financings and mergers & acquisitions for middle market companies.


Kyle currently serves on the Kellogg Alumni Council of the Kellogg School of Management, the Young Chancellor’s Advisory Council at Texas Christian University, and the Clark Society Board of Texas Christian University.  He previously served on the Neeley Alumni Executive Board of Texas Christian University.


A native Texan, Kyle received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from Texas Christian University and earned his Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Operating Advisors

Todd Deibel | Operating Advisor.  Todd Deibel assists in due diligence, deal sourcing, and portfolio management efforts. He has over 20 years of diverse operating experience, most recently serving as CEO of a private equity owned, middle market business.


Todd is the President of Second Sight Systems, a provider of industrial wireless solutions to the utility telecom and industrial networking markets.  Previously, Todd held executive leadership positions at Universal Air Filter Company (“UAF”), the industry leader in custom air filters for a range of applications in the communications, computer networking, industrial machinery, medical, military, and power generation industries. He joined the company as Vice President in 2001 and in 2005, Todd took over responsibilities as President and CEO, which he held until 2015. Under Todd’s leadership, the company more than doubled annual revenue while achieving record margins.  The company achieved accelerated growth through a series of organic initiatives, including aggressive expansion into international markets and entry into adjacent end-markets. UAF successfully exited two separate private equity investments, delivering exceptional returns for shareholders.  In 2011, UAF was acquired by Filtration Group.


Before joining UAF, Todd held various executive roles with Intel, Texas Instruments, and Automatic Data Processing, throughout the U.S. and Europe.


Todd is involved with St. Louis Children’s Hospital where he serves as Board Secretary and sits on the Executive Committee to the Chairman.


Todd earned his Master of Business Administration from Washington University and BA from Rollins College, where he also captained the Division II varsity baseball team.  He currently resides in St. Louis, MO with his wife, Jeni, and three children.
